European Roulette (free play)
Spin a single-zero wheel with 1,000 play chips. Your running return is tracked against the 97.30% the maths predicts, so you can watch the house edge work.
Place your play chips, then spin.

How it works
- Pick a chip value and click the layout to place play chips. Right-click (or Clear) removes them.
- Spin. The result and your payout appear at once; the wheel animation is skipped if you prefer reduced motion.
- Watch your running RTP (chips returned per chip bet) against the theoretical line.
- After 50 spins the game explains where your chips went.
What the maths says
A single-zero wheel has 37 pockets, but every bet pays as if there were 36. A straight-up bet pays 35 to 1 on a 1-in-37 chance, so for every 37 chips bet you expect 36 back: a house edge of 2.70% and a return to player of 97.30%. The French La Partage rule returns half of even-money bets when zero hits, cutting their edge to 1.35%.
Every bet on the European layout carries the same edge:
| Bet | Pays | Covers | House edge |
|---|---|---|---|
| straight | 35:1 | 1 | 2.70% |
| split | 17:1 | 2 | 2.70% |
| street | 11:1 | 3 | 2.70% |
| trio | 11:1 | 3 | 2.70% |
| corner | 8:1 | 4 | 2.70% |
| first-four | 8:1 | 4 | 2.70% |
| six-line | 5:1 | 6 | 2.70% |
| dozen | 2:1 | 12 | 2.70% |
| column | 2:1 | 12 | 2.70% |
| red | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
| black | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
| odd | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
| even | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
| low | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
| high | 1:1 | 18 | 2.70% |
In a short session your RTP swings far above or below the line; over thousands of spins it settles towards it. No betting pattern changes that.
