Traditional slots have a fixed number of symbols per reel — typically 3 or 4 — creating a fixed number of paylines. Megaways slots randomly vary the number of symbols shown on each reel from 2 to 7 on every spin.

Cascading Reels: How Big Wins Chain

Nearly all Megaways slots use cascading reels (also called Avalanche or Tumble):

1. A winning combination lands
2. Winning symbols are removed
3. New symbols fall from above to fill the gaps
4. If the new symbols form another win, the process repeats
