How it works
- Choose your table rules (they are shared with the strategy chart).
- Each hand deals two cards to you and one up to the dealer. Pick a play with the buttons or the keys H, S, D, P, R.
- You get the chart play straight away, the reason for it, and what your choice costs per 100 units bet.
- Missed hands go into Drill weak spots and come back until you get them right twice in a row.
What the maths says
Each hand is graded against the basic-strategy chart for your rules, computed by the same engine as the strategy chart. The cost of a mistake is the difference in expected value between your play and the best one, per 100 units bet.
Mistakes are not equal. With standard rules, standing on 16 against a 10 instead of surrendering costs 4.0 units per 100; hitting 11 against a 6 instead of doubling costs 33.7; standing on a pair of 8s against a 10 instead of splitting costs 6.1. Hitting 12 against a 4 costs just 0.4. The trainer shows you which ones are expensive so you can fix those first.
Perfect basic strategy still leaves the house its edge. The trainer teaches you to stop paying extra on top of it.
